| Confronted
every day with reports of seemingly unsolvable environmental
problems, the students from A Year on Earth are motivated to help identify
solutions, search out signs of hope and engage in action—all
in some of the world’s wildest places. It’s
a story of the transformational power of nature, taking
the pulse of the planet, and reporting back to their
generation on the future of the global environment.
Arsen, Tyler, and Jamie are high school students nominated
to participate in this exciting program by their teachers.
They were chosen by a panel of Earthwatch educators
and staff after an extensive interview process. They
will travel the world, participating in Earthwatch
research projects. Follow along
their trip by reading Jamie's journal, viewing Arsen's
photographs, and watching Tyler's short films.
This documentary film of their travels will highlight
important evironmental issues including: climate change,
habitat destruction, species extinction, and loss of
cultural heritage.
